On January 15, petrol prices were reduced by Rs 8 per litre
There is a possibility of a big increase in the prices of petroleum products from February 1. This change can be attributed to the increasing price of crude oil in the global market.
Experts monitoring petroleum issues say that on February 31, the price of petrol should be increased by 9 rupees per liter as part of the fortnightly review of the prices of petroleum products. The same increase can happen in the price of diesel.
The possible change in the prices of petroleum products is very important as it will be the last change before the general elections on 8th.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had on January 15 reduced the price of petrol by Rs 8 per litre. Then the price of high speed diesel across the country was allowed to remain at Rs 276.21 per litre.
The rise in crude oil prices in the global market is putting pressure on weak economies around the world. In some countries, the energy crisis is becoming serious due to the rising prices of petroleum products.
